The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Retail Support Specialist role in the Chicago, IL market. The successful candidate supports the retail support office function of the bank on a day-to-day basis to ensure retail branch staff has the appropriate tools and resources necessary to provide an exceptional customer experience.

This position comes with a generous salary of up to $50K and a full benefits package.

Retail Support Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Retail Branch Network and the Retail Support department.
  • Developing and maintaining the Retail Banking programs for policy and procedures; and supporting the bank’s Customer Identification Program.
  • Working with internal and external auditors as well as regulatory examiners, in providing applicable documentation as well as addressing any items associated with your responsibilities.
  • Supporting the RSO Officer in the research, development, implementation
  • and maintenance of deposit products and services.
  • Communicating with the RSO Officer when operational issues, problems, or situations occur that need to be corrected or addressed.
  • Identifying and resolving operational problems while developing and implementing alternative methods for work improvement.
  • Evaluating current procedures and practices for efficiencies and effectiveness, while accomplishing department activities and functions, adhering to various banking compliance regulations.
  • Must stay abreast of changes affecting Retail Banking Operations, adhere to and implement changes, and assist in developing communications to Retail staff.
  • The ability to fully understand bank core processing systems, transaction processing, account opening, closing, and maintenance as well as banking policies and procedures.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Two or more years of banking (retail) or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of fundamental bank compliance topics.
  • Demonstrating logical judgment, being detail-oriented, able to prioritize and quickly move from one topic/assignment to the next
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications or communication with a wide range of internal clients.
  • Excellent technological skills-computer savvy, in addition to the basic Microsoft Office products.
