The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill an SBA Department Manager role in the Miami, FL area. The successful candidate will oversee the processing of approved loans ensuring that contractual time frames are adhered to by the LSP, and all (SOP) Standard Operating Procedures of the SBA are followed.

This opportunity comes with a generous salary of up to $175K and a full benefits program. (This is a 100% remote position or there is relocation assistance to the Miami, FL area).

SBA Department Manager responsibilities include:

  • Managing the workflow of all SBA loans processed through the Bank’s (LSP) Loan Service Provider relationship.
  • Gathering and analyzing credit information on potential SBA borrowers and recommending loans for approval to Senior Management.
  • Working with the Chief Credit Officer to develop policies and procedures specific to the approval and portfolio management of a growing SBA portfolio to assure compliance with all Bank policies as well as all applicable banking regulations.
  • May assist with workouts, bankruptcies, and charge-offs to ensure all possible precautionary actions or measures are taken and the full SBA guarantee will be honored.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of specific SBA experience with other conventional lending experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SBA loan documentation and legal requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of the SBA’s SOPs regarding SBA programs, eligibility, and servicing requirements.
  • Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills.
  • Supervisory and managerial experience a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in performing pre-qualification assessment and analysis of the financial condition and risk management of borrower financing requests within the framework of SBA SOP’s, Bank credit culture, and current economic and industry trends.
  • Develops knowledge of the financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors, and competition.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
