The Position

Our bank client is seeking a fill an SBA Loan Closer role in the Atlanta, GA market. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing SBA forms and loan closing documents for submission to the SBA and to ensure compliance and adherence to SBA SOP and bank policies and procedures.

This position offers a competitive salary of up to $80K and a full benefits package. (This is not a remote position.)

SBA Loan Closer responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the accuracy of the loan file, including all packaging documents, satisfaction of credit conditions, and compliance with SBA lending requirements.
  • Reviewing and completing all necessary documentation for the SBA packaging file and preparing CLP/GP and PLP submission package to the SBA.
  • Generating closing checklist and coordinates initial kickoff call with the borrower, BDO, and attorney.
  • Ordering tax transcripts, UCC/Federal/State/County preliminary lien searches, title commitments, and request from the borrower the essential loan documentation as indicated by credit approval and/or internal procedures to ensure completeness of loan files.
  • Maintaining control over loans(s) in the process to detect any potential and/or developing problems and ensure all department managers and BDO are informed of the issues.
  • Processing draw funding requests.
  • Building electronic loan folder and scans loan documents into electronic scanning system.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by SBA Manager.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field preferred.
  • Five or more years’ experience packaging and closing SBA 7a loan.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending and SBA lending processes is required.
  • Knowledge of 504 processing is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • PC and internet proficiency.
