The Position

Our bank client seeks to fill a Credit Analyst role in the San Antonio, TX market. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting commercial and private banking business plans by researching and calculating risks for complex commercial transactions such as granting businesses loans and extending lines of credit for equipment and other goods.

This position includes a generous salary of up to $85K and excellent benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing credit worthiness of all current and prospective business customers.
  • Managing portfolio to include customer service, problem-solving, maintenance, renewals, modifications, and information flow.
  • Assisting Relationship Managers with prospective clients.
  • Obtaining, investigating, and analyzing credit data, and records and spread financial statements.
  • Providing in-depth written analysis of commercial credit requests.
  • Conferring with credit associations and other business representatives to exchange credit information.
  • Preparing internal monthly reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
  • Recommending loan structuring.
  • Performing periodic reviews and risk ratings of existing borrowers and key vendors
  • Creating, maintaining, and organizing credit files and performing a review of loan covenant compliance.
  • Consulting and communicating effectively with internal and external clients as necessary to resolve issues during the loan approval process.
  • Ensuring adherence to commercial loan policy standards, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ensuring loan policy exceptions are documented and discussed appropriately in credit approval documents.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business/finance/economics.
  • Two or more years of experience underwriting preferred.
  • Understanding of social, economic, and political issues that impact our market(s).
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents; proficient in business writing.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Expertise in credit underwriting spreading software such as Moody’s Financial Analyst and Sageworks preferred.
