The Position
Our client is seeking to fill a Marketing Director role in the Midland, MI market.
The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies and plans at both the company and subsidiary levels to increase the profitability of new and existing products and services. This role also manages all advertising and marketing communication activities towards the achievement of company and subsidiary performance, market share, and goals and objectives.
The position includes a generous salary of up to $145K and an excellent benefits package. (This is not a remote position).
Marketing Director responsibilities include:
- Establishing annual strategic marketing plan and budget to achieve corporate objectives for products, services, penetration, and overall balanced profitability and growth.
- Developing and recommending the company’s marketing policies and procedures.
- Coordinating, developing, and executing comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long-range, to support sales and revenue objectives at both the company and subsidiary levels.
- Developing, implementing, and managing marketing operating budgets at both company and subsidiary levels making changes when appropriate.
- Coordinating with the company and subsidiaries to identify marketing support requirements for the achievement of all sales and profitability objectives.
- Overseeing advertising and promotional strategies to ensure coordinated efforts among subsidiaries.
- Researching, analyzing, and monitoring financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity at both the company and subsidiary levels.
- Planning and overseeing advertising and promotion activities including print, online, digital media, and direct mail.
- Evaluating, recommending, and assisting in the development of distribution channel development programs.
- Determining agencies and suppliers of record and negotiating contract terms and conditions for major services.
- Serving as liaison with outside agencies on major promotional campaigns.
- Overseeing the development and production of promotional and collateral materials.
- Performing marketing testing, customer surveys, and basic market research activities. Analyzing data and interpreting results of studies, recommending courses of action as appropriate, and adjusting marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Developing and recommending product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share and profitability.
- Monitors and controls the cost-effectiveness of various marketing programs and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
- Monitoring and maintaining an awareness of competitive products and services and marketing activities in subsidiaries’ markets and nationwide.
- Resolving conflicts and facilitating changes in the structure of the marketing group to ensure objective fulfillment and swift response to marketing problems and opportunities.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners.
- Establishing and maintaining a consistent corporate brand image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business with emphasis in Marketing. Advanced degree preferred.
- Five or more years of proven success in marketing with marketing strategy and execution experience, preferably in a financial institution environment.
- Prior marketing, communication, and product development experience preferred.
- Proven experience leading highly successful teams.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of graphic and database tools.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong creative and artistic abilities.
- Ability to speak in and understand marketing and technological terms.
- Strong digital marketing skills and online strategy development.
- Proven ability to measure marketing results.
