The Position
Our client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processor/Underwriter role within 1 hour of the Woodward, OK market. The successful candidate will be responsible for proper underwriting of residential loan requests and the support of loan processing of conventional loans. Ensuring each loans processing compliance within the Bank’s corporate guidelines, investor requirements, and regulatory mandates. (This is not a remote position.)

Mortgage Processor/Underwriter responsibilities include:
- Responsible for underwriting decision on all conventional loan requests. These decisions must adhere to the investor, insurer and/or the Bank’s corporate standards with minimum risk.
- Receiving closed manufactured housing loans and reviewing package to ensure all documentation listed on the cover checklist is in the package and is fully executed.
- Reviewing closed manufactured housing loans while completing the LAR (Loan Approval) Excel checklist to ensure they are within the MLCS guidelines.
- Reviewing income and debt documentation to ensure the final ratios were accurately determined.
- Gathering additional required documentation on all closed loan files using Excel and appropriate internet pages.
- Imputing data from loan package to the Loan Operations Excel sheet.
- Combining loan documentation in Adobe to ensure all loan packages are saved in the same format.
- Importing loan file documentation to Mortgage Servicer software using pre-defined naming conventions to ensure all files are stored uniformly.
- Perform all other duties as requested or assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS); and /or 1-2 years underwriting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in the residential mortgage industry.
- Thorough understanding of underwriting policies and procedures including knowledge of Conventional, guidelines, and standards. (Knowledge of FHA and VA guidelines is a plus.)
- The ability to solve complex problems and clearly articulate issues and solutions.
- Ability to utilize Loan Origination Software, prior experience with Encompass considered a plus.
- Superior organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and balance multiple projects.
