The Position

Our client is seeking to fill an Accounting Manager role in the Denver, CO market. The successful candidate will oversee and manage the day to day operations of the Accounting Department.  The Accounting Manager will be responsible for monitoring cash activities including daily cash posting, supervising accounting staff, ensuring payables are processed on time and monthly financial goals are on target.

The position includes a salary of up to $70K and an excellent benefits package.

Accounting Manager responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Assigning and directing staff on specific projects while ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Preparing weekly cash reporting, monitoring and analyzing accounting data to produce financial reports.
  • Establishing and maintaining fiscal files and records to document transactions.
  • Managing and overseeing general ledger as well as troubleshooting any issues.
  • Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, controls, policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring daily transfers between cash accounts and cash deposits.
  • Filing quarterly sales tax, and annual county filings for the company.
  • Coordinating, preparing and completing annual audits.
  • Meeting financial accounting GAAP objectives.
  • Processing and approving bi-weekly employee payroll and managing employee benefits and insurance.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred; accounting/finance experience is beneficial.
  • Five or more years of accounting experience required.
  • Familiarity with accounting and payroll software is beneficial.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and a desire to help and support others.
  • Knowledge of established Accounting principles and methods.
  • Must possess attention to detail, accuracy in work performed, and can multi-task while maintaining focus.
  • Strong Analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word and excel; must demonstrate the ability to mentor/coach other team members while completing own work at a high level.
