The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a BSA/AML Compliance Manager role in the Chicago, IL market. The successful candidate will ensure the products and customers are fully compliant with state and federal BSA, US Patriot Act, OFAC, and fraud requirements. The BSA/AML Officer will ensure that the structure of compliance, operations, and fraud controls meets applicable requirements to manage, monitor, and mitigate Financial Crime risk.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $80K along with an excellent benefits package. (This is NOT a remote position).

BSA/AML Compliance Manager responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day management, supervision, and oversight of the Bank’s BSA/AML Program.
  • Providing risk-based and practical advice to the Board of Directors, Executive Management, BSA/AML Committee, and Business Units on emerging BSA compliance issues.
  • Working with the business to investigate transactions that are suspicious in nature.
  • Collaborating with the business to provide oversight and thought leadership related to the BSA/AML strategies.
  • Establishing standards for monitoring BSA/AML high-risk customers and accounts.
  • Developing standards for routine monitoring to determine the extent of compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Developing and executing requirements and reporting for performing annual AML/BSA risk assessments.
  • Overseeing and executing the process for submitting reporting for BSA/AML-related activities to Third-Party Product Contributors (TPPCs).
  • Coordinating responses to regulatory BSA/AML examinations and audits and actions taken to ensure deficiencies are corrected.
  • Managing and implementing requisite AML technology to further automate and strengthen the control environment.
  • Providing training and mentoring for team members on the Bank’s BSA Policy, the BSA department’s investigation procedures, and the specific functions assigned to CTR/UAR/SAR preparation.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field.
  • Five or more years of experience as a BSA/AML officer.
  • ACAMS certification strongly desired, or ability to obtain.
  • Possess strong knowledge of the current BSA/AML and OFAC regulatory environment.
  • Execute strong analytical acumen with proficiency in Excel, Visio, and other MS Office suite products.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of related methodologies and regulatory guidance.
