The Position

Our Nevada-based bank client is seeking to fill a Remote Bank CRA Officer role. The selected candidate will be for developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the bank’s CRA and Fair Lending Programs for the Bank, including elements relating to Banking as a Service partner, and their products and programs.

The position comes with a generous base salary of $90K and a full benefits package. (This is a remote position – must reside in Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, or Texas.)

Bank CRA Officer responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining the Bank’s CRA programs.
  • Ensuring that the bank’s CRA Public Files are current, accurate, and made available as required.
  • Providing job-specific training and communication to lending staff, as needed, guiding Fair Lending regulations to various business units.
  • Managing CRA and fair lending before and during compliance exams or audits.
  • Performing periodic analysis of lending and denial activity to document fair lending risks.
  • Conducting periodic reviews and assessment of CRA activity, including Banking as a Service Partner, and report results to the bank’s Compliance Committee, Executive Management, and the Board of Directors.
  • Working collaboratively with the Bank Compliance Officer to ensure data integrity of CRA and HMDA data; as required, submit reports to meet Federal filing requirements.
  • Compiling bank records of CRA activities, including Community Development lending, Small Business/Small Farm lending, Bank Services, and Bank Investments.
  • Working collaboratively with the Bank Compliance Officer to ensure the timely and satisfactory resolution of consumer complaints relating to Fair Lending issues.
  • Preparing periodic fair lending reports for senior management, and the Board of Directors that includes significant fair banking developments, fair banking risk monitoring, and testing results, and fair banking key risk indicators, including the impact of BaaS partners on the Bank’s Fair Lending program.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in fair lending, CRA, audit, and/or compliance background in financial institution operations.
  • Lending and financial reporting preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations.
  • Expert of consumer protection laws and regulations that impact financial institutions, including CRA, HMDA, FCRA, and UDAAP.
  • Knowledge of both lending and deposit-related laws is required.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • General understanding of the digital payment processing environment.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Strong research skills involving customers and transactions using the core system, BSA software, social media, and the internet.
  • Follow and comply with all regulatory and compliance regulations.
