The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill an Information Technology Director role in the Chicago, IL area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring organization-wide systems and information connectivity.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $135K and an excellent benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Bank Information Technology Director responsibilities include:

  • Providing direction and support to the IT team in running regular checks on network and data security, as well as conducting regular system audits.
  • Providing leadership and management of the IT Team by being an active advocate for the best interests of all employees.
  • Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
  • Assisting with managing and reporting on the allocation of the IT budget.
  • Monitoring systems operations, establishing user profiles, user environments, directories, and security access on the Local Area Network (LAN) as needed.
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and that all employees are held accountable for complying with those policies.
  • Inspiring and empowering employees to identify initiatives aligned to strategy or operational improvements and supporting them in the end-to-end development and deployment of an initiative.
  • Consulting with computer operations management, supervisory staff, and various I.S. personnel to assure that I.S. standards for control, security, and recoverability are understood and followed.
  • Designing and maintaining systems documentation, processing logs and inventory of equipment, and providing off-hours support, including on-call rotation.
  • Primary contact for hardware and software issues, as well as, managing the process of maintaining PCs and PC applications.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • College degree or Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Eight or more years to twelve years of similar or related experience.
  • Ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.
  • Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting departments or divisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and a good understanding of Information Technology, Security, and control objectives.
