The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Business Banker role in the Waukesha, WI market. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing an assigned portfolio of relationships in support of the region’s overall goals. Responsibilities will include interfacing with customers, all levels of management, staff, and product specialists.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $135K plus bonus and an excellent benefits package.

Business Banker responsibilities include:

  • Developing and expanding new banking relationships with business prospects and maintaining existing business banking client base to achieve established goals.
  • Meeting or preferably exceeding sales goals in deposits, loans, fee income, and new business revenues.
  • Suggesting products to new customers and cross-selling bank products and services to existing customers.
  • Performing all aspects of financial analysis, underwriting, and loan structuring on new and existing customers.
  • Evaluating credit information and requests, as well as recommending appropriate loan structures to manage risk.
  • Acting as the primary lending officer to a large portfolio of commercial loan and deposit relationships.
  • Developing Business Banking Trainees to assist with the administration of this portfolio including delinquency, document follow-up, covenant compliance, financial reporting, and renewals.
  • Developing and utilizing a broad group of business and commercial referral sources.
  • Interfacing with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, and product specialists as required.
  • Properly documenting and closing approved loan requests along with the sourcing officer in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, bank policies, and sound banking practices. Networking within the community with referral partners.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Three or more years of commercial banking experience.
  • Business Development experience required.
  • Must produce at least $8MM/year new commercial loans.
  • A portfolio will be provided to the lender.
  • Credit experience.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial lending practices, compliance issues, and underwriting skills.
  • Ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial statements and tax returns.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
