The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Business Development Officer role in the Philadelphia, PA market. The client will accept candidates from New York to Baltimore. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing and maintaining a portfolio of relationships in support of the region’s overall goals. Responsibilities will include interfacing with customers, all levels of management, staff and product specialists.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $100K, an excellent benefits package and is bonus eligible.

Business Development Officer responsibilities include:

  • Developing and expanding new CRE banking relationships with business prospects and maintaining existing business banking client base to achieve established goals.
  • Have a good network of CRE (and C&I) loan referrals.
  • Meeting assigned loan production goals in deposits, loans, fee income, and new business revenues.
  • Suggesting products to new customers and cross-selling bank products and services to existing customer
  • Evaluating credit information and requests, as well as recommending appropriate loan structure to manage risk.
  • Developing and utilizing a broad group of business and commercial referral sources.
  • Interfacing with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, and product specialists as required.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three or more years business development experience preferably in the CRE realm.
  • Formal credit training preferred.
  • Ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial statements and tax returns.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers to include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
