The Position

Our Iowa-based bank client is seeking to fill a Remote Credit Analyst role. The selected candidate will collaborate with loan officers in order to achieve bank objectives set within bank policies and regulatory requirements.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $80K and full benefits package.

Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the bank’s objective of maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio through comprehensive financial analysis to ensure borrower creditworthiness.
  • Analyzing borrower financial information including financial statements and cash flows.
  • Reviewing of financial projections including scenarios that test validity.
  • Calculating applicable financial ratios.
  • Assisting in the drafting of models for credit and credit trend analysis such as loan concentration, lender capacity, and classified assets.
  • Communicating with the borrower and/or borrower’s financial representatives to resolve unanswered financial questions.
  • Identification of primary and secondary sources of repayment.
  • Determining collateral adequacy and maintaining collateral inspection reports.
  • Computation of credit score and assignments of risk rating.
  • Annual review of tax returns.
  • Participating in workouts and collections when requested.
  • Maintaining an auditing system for loan files in accordance with bank policies.
  • Assisting in incorporating and instilling ongoing loan portfolio quality monitors and measures.
  • Attending Loan Committee meetings to answer questions related to credit analyses and file documentation.
  • Attending committee meetings where audits and examinations will be reviewed.
  • Additional duties that may be assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience: 

  • Four-year college degree in an applicable area, specific banking industry education is an added advantage.
  • Ten years of banking experience and five years of credit analyst experience.
  • Knowledge of Agriculture – Understands ag lending and ag operations.
  • Understand the financial framework of the organization.
  • Knows the industry, monitors trends and works to apply knowledge to advance the organization.
  • Thinks and acts ethically and honestly.
  • Possesses advanced computer skills and spreadsheet experience.
