The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processing/Closing Manager role in the Chicago, IL. This selected candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing activities of loan closing, loan processing, loan servicing, which includes first mortgages and a small multi-family portfolio. The candidate will be managing the processing/closing pipeline, establish SLAs and KPIs for the team, ensuring quality standards are met, and opportunity to review and improve processes.

This position includes a generous salary of up to $90K and full benefits package. (This is not a remote position.)

Mortgage Processing/Closing Manager responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing a team of mortgage processor and closers to ensure timely processing and closing of loans.
  • Loan processing, documentation, pre-closing/closing tasks, monitoring, loan servicing and underwriting activities.
  • Pipeline review and management, manage cycle times, loan review, and follow up with Loan Officers and Borrowers.
  • Daily Review of pipelines and dashboards to ensure SLA’s are being met.
  • Assigning, reassigning, or completing tasks as needed to remain in SLA.
  • Managing working relationship between processing team and sales and underwriting teams.
  • Providing leadership and training towards development of Loan Processors and closers.
  • Ensuring processing team members achieve all metrics including meeting all closing dates.
  • Developing and implementing operational, servicing, or documentation procedures, methods and work systems.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field preferred.
  • Four or more years of closing/processing experience preferred.
  • Prior management experience highly preferred.
  • Prior experience with Encompass desired.
  • Working knowledge of financial analysis and accounting theory, and the ability to write clearly, logically, and analytically.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and demonstrates a strong level of initiative and commitment with a minimum level of supervision.
  • Ability to define problems, proactively identify and articulate risks, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
