The Position

Our Florida-based bank client is seeking to fill a Remote SBA Business Development Officer role. The successful candidate will be working with customers and potential customers to identify SBA/USDA loans throughout the bank’s footprint.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $130K + Bonus along with an excellent benefits package. Including cell phone and mileage reimbursement and an excellent benefits package.(This is a remote position – must live in the states of TX, AR, FL, AL, or NY).

SBA Business Development Officer responsibilities include:

  • Originating sufficient volume of SBA Loans (7A and 504).
  • Discussing and submitting loan requests with the SBA department manager to determine the viability of loan requests.
  • Determining which documentation is required in accordance with loan size and collateral.
  • Supporting SBA Credit Analyst/Underwriter & Closing Specialist in the collection of documents to complete the application & closing process. Support SBA Credit Analyst/Underwriter & Closing Specialist in the collection of documents to complete the application & closing process.
  • Supporting the SBA/USDA department manager to assist regional loan officers with training/structuring SBA/USDA loans.
  • Contacting prospective borrowers when instructed by the SBA/USDA Dept staff.
  • Interviewing applicants and requesting specific information for SBA loan application, requesting credit reports, establishing eligibility, and other information pertinent to the evaluation of loan application.
  • Prescreening all SBA/USDA loans presented for review and performing site inspections.
  • Maintaining communication and relationship throughout the SBA process and annual site inspections.
  • Preparing memos/write up of all SBA/USDA loans presented for review.
  • Tracking and logging COI/referral sources and loan referral fee agreements.
  • Managing internal shared folders and ensuring quality control is performed for transactions handled by assigned SBA team members.
  • Maintaining pipeline report.
  • Performing any other related duties as required or assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Equivalent to a four-year college degree.
  • Five or more years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SBA 7a/504/Express Program Certifications.
  • Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
  • Possess knowledge of the SBA 7A loan programs, products, and services.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
