The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Sr. Credit Analyst/Portfolio Manager role in the greater Tampa, FL market. This selected candidate will be responsible for providing commercial loan officers with an objective analysis of current and prospective borrowers’ financial conditions.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $80K plus bonus with an excellent benefits package.

Sr. Credit Analyst/Portfolio Manager responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing borrower’s financial position by interpreting and evaluating financial statements, tax returns, and/or projections.
  • Preparing spreadsheets and reports through company related software that compares industry trends and related standards.
  • Preparing comprehensive credit memorandums and providing opinions and recommendations regarding proposed loans and potential risks.
  • Supporting Relationship Managers with portfolios that have varying degrees of difficulty, underwriting, and monitoring credit.
  • Supporting the Relationship Manager in monitoring on-going information concerning customer performance, abilities, and industry to determine that loan is an acceptable risk.
  • Maintaining current accounts and relationships and researching any problem necessary to resolve any routine or non-routine requests for financial information.
  • Preparing financial projections (to include sensitivity analysis) when requested by upper management.
  • Reviews loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to credit memorandum covenants and conditions.
  • Interacting with customers and their accountants in the credit analysis process when appropriate.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred; accounting/finance experience is beneficial. The appropriate combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Two or more years of credit analysis and portfolio management experience required.
  • Must have CRE and C&I experience as well as working knowledge of SBA 504 and SBA 7a.
  • Must possess attention to detail, accuracy in work performed, and can multi-task while maintaining focus.
  • Excellent PC skills required; must demonstrate the ability to mentor/coach other team members while completing their own work at a high level.
