The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Team Lead Commercial Lending role in the Abilene, TX market.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the market location, including providing positive, proactive, and consistent leadership, direction, public representation, and guidance of the company’s sales and service, lending programs, other products, and services in order to assure short and long-range profitability and planned growth and prosperity of the bank.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $125K and an excellent benefits program. (This is not a remote position).

Team Lead Commercial Lending responsibilities include:


  • Formulating, supervising and implementing the annual Commercial and Retail Sales business plans for the division consistent with the goals and objectives of the bank.
  • Ensure that an ongoing evaluation system is in place related to the goals and objectives set forth in the Commercial and Retail Sales business plan.
  • Managing large or complex commercial loans as needed, and counseling loan customers on loan management and beneficial financial strategies.
  • Providing training, motivation and evaluation to staff in conjunction with the Human Resources Department of the Bank.
  • Directing marketing personnel to establish the bank’s marketing strategies and coordinating their activities with Bank’s Marketing Department.
  • Managing relationships with business banking clients by providing service and support.
  • Recommending compensation adjustments to staff consistent with the Bank’s compensation plan.
  • Delegating duties and responsibilities consistent with their goals and objectives, allowing achievement of those goals and objectives.
  • Keeping abreast of economic trends, market conditions, and regulatory standards. Proactively assesses how changes may impact the Bank.
  • Representing the Bank in community/economic development activities and initiatives. Ensuring Bank visibility in all aspects of the community.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • BS or BA degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Three or more years of bank deposit, loan, or operations experience, including at least one year of lending and management experience.
  • High sales and sales management ability and strong relationship skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of consumer and mortgage loan applications, underwriting, and closing procedures.
  • Superior customer service and proven sales skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through both written and oral formats
  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
