The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a VP – Retail Banking Leader role in the Milwaukee, WI market. The successful candidate shall be responsible for overseeing the planning, directing, organizing, and indirect supervision of branch staff at multiple locations while leading the Branch Managers to accomplish and achieve a growth plan through the development of expanded relationships, innovative sales and service techniques, and value creation activities.

VP – Retail Banking Leader responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing the Bank’s Branch Managers and Call Center Manager.
  • Providing coaching, development, motivation and deepen relationships thus maintaining a strong compliance focus for the branch network and call center.
  • Ensuring that the unmatched support resources that the bank provides to customer-facing staff are efficiently utilized.
  • Ensuring that bank policies and standard operating procedures are consistently and uniformly applied by all associates.
  • Instilling a strong customer service acumen in all Branch Managers and Call Center Manager and supporting them in the training and development of their teams.
  • Conducting Banking Center Manager meetings and maintains a high level of communication within the region.
  • Resolving personnel issues by working with the assigned human resources personnel to ensure resolution within established procedures and guidelines.
  • Evaluating performance on a constant basis, providing counseling and guidance as needed; annually prepare formal written performance appraisals in an honest and impartial manner, recommending salary increases and promotions as appropriate.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field in an area such as Management, Business Administration, or similar is a plus.
  • Five or more years’ direct supervisory and leadership experience, preferably managing multiple retail bank branches.
  • Travel is required throughout the Region, as well as in the market as necessary.
  • The demonstrated competencies for this position include priority setting, communication, recruiting/hiring, performance management, sales management, coaching, motivating others, and decision-making.
  • Good knowledge of bank compliance.
  • Basic Knowledge of deposit operations.
  • Strong leadership skills.
